What is Lean?
Lean is the set of "tools" that assist in the identification and steady elimination of waste (muda). As waste is eliminated quality improves while production time and cost are reduced.
Given that Lean is a critical element of a Continuous Improvement journey and not a program, PI works closely with each client to understand their current state and customize services that will be most effective for their strategic and operational goals within their specific organizational culture.
What is Six Sigma?
Six Sigma seeks to identify and remove the causes of defects and errors in manufacturing and business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified financial targets (cost reduction or profit increase).
What is Human Performance Improvement?
Human performance improvement is the systematic process of discovering and analyzing the root cause of performance gaps then selecting solutions that are directly linked to addressing the cause of the gaps. Solutions can be as simple as layout of forms, lack of job aids, and/ or lack of clear processes in addition to or in place of training.
To develop and sustain a Continuous Improvement Culture organizations must have strong leaders, both formal and informal, at all levels of an organization.
While Management involves Power by Position... Leadership involves Power by Influence.
One of the most popular leadership models utilized by PI is The Leadership Challenge Model from Kouzes and Posner's "The Leadership Challenge".
True teamwork is a rare commodity in today's world.
Assisting people in understanding the nature and obstacles to teamwork, allows them to take the next steps required in synthesizing the strengths and weaknesses of individual members to become a functional team.
Determining the root cause of problems instead of firefighting the symptoms by utilizing a systematic Problem Solving Process.
Understanding The Change Cycle
Leadership actions required during each phase of the Change Cycle
A key to assisting individuals and teams achieve higher levels of performance is a deeper understanding of themselves and their team members.
